South Africans have a lot to deal with and I would argue that South African business owners have even more on their plate than the rest of us. Organisations like CAPACITI, a Digital Career Accelerator, based here in Cape Town know that and have built an entire business model around alleviating that pressure. On Tuesday, 26 August 2025, it exceeded itself and hosted its first Catalyst Awards evening, where our company was nominated and honoured to walk away with the Emerging Partner Excellence award. A momentous occasion and serendipitous achievement to be sure.
The timing is exceptionally divine considering the partner announcement we made not too long ago. The CAPACITI x Big Beard Web Solutions relationship too, while still in its infancy has generated a wealth of positive sentiment. To the former, that the model works and can be a helping hand to South African SMMEs that post among the world’s worst small business success rates. To the latter, that local talent can be fostered at a young age, which bodes well for the unemployment crisis we face as a nation.
In an age of fake news, artificial intelligence and import/export uncertainty, it is encouraging to know that we still live in a country where our highest ideals may still win the day. We have had the distinct pleasure to work with the team from CAPACITI at various stages and the engagements have always been positive. It is rare to find an organisation where all individuals are dedicated to a higher purpose and for it to be so obviously evident in the work they do. While Big Beard Web Solutions is headed for its fifth birthday on 25 September, the last year has already given us a lot to celebrate.
The Emerging Partner Excellence award is our first of many still to come and stands as a testament to the significance of the human partnerships we build. It serves as a reminder that though many are in a rush to automate, we must not forget to foster the old, existing and new relationships we build. We express our gratitude to CAPACITI who honoured us with this token of accountability, our team who devote themselves daily to serving our highest aspirations and to you, our clients, whose continued support has helped us to ascend higher than we dared believe. Our award now sits pretty in a little display cabinet at our Durbanville offices and serves as a daily reminder that our journey has just begun.
